All Verdimm know how to shapeshift into their 3 natural forms: Dimoh
(Human), normally the base form; Khiulnter (Animal), normally the hunting form;
and Dimo-Khu, something in between animal and human, normally used rarely and
for purposes of war or ritual. The Dimo-Khu should rarely be shown. Normally it
is revealed only for mortal combat or a ritual of some sort. TO be a Crinos
shapeshifter, you do NOT need to purchase the shapeshifting power; however, you
will not be able to shapeshift outside of Crinos unless you purchase the
shapeshifting power. Verdimm are limited to to the above mentioned 3 forms
exactly. It is advised that Verdimm who have not purchased the
shapeshifting power choose one form to consistently use outside of Crinos, and
assume that your character can only stay in that one form while outside Crinos.All
PC's should keep in mind that to Crinosians, having 3 forms to choose from is
normal. Having less or more of these forms at your disposal would be considered
odd, and foreign nature. No Verdimm (previous to the shadowpath's opening) has
ever known more than 3 forms, though they may have the latent ability to do so.
PC's wishing their characters to learn more than the 3 forms should follow these
steps:
- Have a valid reason for doing so. Curiosity would work only if this was a
driving force in your character's nature already.
- Have an IC teacher. Yes, this means a PC.
- +mail Crinos_bldr on your progress in learning. It's unrealistic to
suddenly break thousands of years of tradition in a week.
While we
don't want to be unreasonable in this, players truly should understand that this
would be a great struggle for their character, and a Big Deal, as it will affect
Crinos culture.
To make things easier for natives who try to shapeshift,
allow me to recommend a shapeshifter's descer object. With this object, you'll
be able to switch forms conveniently and simply.
To use this code, type
the following, on the MUSH:
@create descer
@parent
descer=#2689
look descer
The instructions to use it are on the
descer itself. Follow all instructions that you see when you look at the descer
and you'll be fine. :) Questions or comments about the descer should be
+mailed/emailed to
Rina, as it's her code.
